I hear the fries at Useless are wonderful but i will never know. I will continue to visit Langley and stay in their exceptional hotels but will not be returning to UBC.
On Friday's there is often live music from an accordion player and when the sun shines there is plenty of outdoor seating and fresh air. Outback are two bocce ball courts.
About the only thing this local hotspot needs are more power outlets. But that does keep hoards of laptops from cropping up, which is usually a good thing.
Free wifi and drip refills (with a limit) and endless hot water for your tea make it a good spot if you need to sit and get some work done (with headphones on). Lots of daylight and bright colors make it lively and warm.
This is deservedly the town's "3rd Place for breakfast and lunch. Homeroasted and organic, handmade coffee smooth strong and rich. Warm and cozy, great food, baked goods. Everyone's there - happily chatting it up. It's the best.
Awesome food and drinks. The service is great as well as the entirety of the cafe.
The first time I was here thw coffee was great and the staff friendly. The second time was the bipolar opposite. Unbeknownst to me there Django Fest was in full swing and every place was packed. Perhaps that explains the rude treatment of the staff and manager but after waiting in line 10 minutes to order and 40 minutes for my food to arrive (with the lame “we tried to find you” excuse despite my standing next to the registet) I opted for a refund and a short walk to a just as busy but much more friendly food truck.
They have a solid breakfast and being Whidbey Island, can cater to most allergies and special needs. It can get loud when more than half full and that can happen often due to its popularity.
If you like coffee, they roast it onsite.
Great paninis. Friendly staff, entertaining rabbits, nice outdoor area for enjoying the food and the Langley street action.
