I'm currently a student here at South Whidbey High School. My experience with the teachers and people here have been outstanding. After reading through the other reviews and being able to name some of the people that have reviewed the school I can say this. 90% of the negative reviews that I have seen about the school have been either A.) People that only goofed around and never took their education seriously and thus have suffered the consequences, or B.) Students pretending to be adults so they can diss the school because they think its funny or for the meme. I have taken my studies seriously and have had a wonderful time not only bettering myself as a person but as a student also. I have never once heard a teacher promote drugs or try to contain a special needs kid ( if you read the other reviews you'll know what I'm talking about.) I have heard about many students that graduated from here that took their studies seriously and made to highly prestigious colleges. The School also has one of the best high school jazz bands in country, and strong sports programs.

As a Kekistani I feel that my culture isn't represented or even acknowledged well here. The struggles of my people should be taught about and appreciated.

Mr. and Mrs. Patton are pretty cool.

This school is the worst possible place to send your child. Please if you are thinking of enrolling your students in this high school, Don't. I attended this school and so did my two brothers. My oldest brother has special needs, and the schools solution to helping him get a "better education" was to put him in the special ed room out of sight out of mind. My mother had to threaten to sue the school district in order for him to be able to participate in normal activities so that he could gain real social skills. My second oldest brother was a bit of a trouble maker and wasn't very loved by the staff and principle. Long story short when I arrived at the school the current principle as of February 16, 2017 John Patton, Pulled me into his office and said that he knew my brother and he was watching me. He made me believe I was going to be just like him. This put me off from the school the entire year I was there. I actually feel like this school ruined my entire High School experience, Thanks for that South Whidbey. You are the worst school on the Island, It's a surprise that your school hasn't been inspected by the State and shutdown for the poor way you run the facility.

Can't believe they closed the middle school to put us in A smaller school w/ 9-12
